My approach to therapy is to provide support to my clients through sincere empathy, gentle confrontation, and the use of several therapeutic treatment modalities. In other words, I treat each person as a unique individual and adjust my style accordingly. I enjoy learning about different approaches to therapy, and use ‘what works’. I use techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Self-Compassion therapy, and others. Sometimes I use worksheets and study guides on various issues with the client to help educate about their particular symptoms or feelings. However, I can only meet you half-way, you have to meet me there in order for any of this to work. Sometimes, the therapist and the client just don’t ‘click,’ and it’s no one’s fault. It is best to try out another therapist if you have at least tried more than one session.
